The “Foc i Biodiversitat” project aims to integrate sustainable management practices to increase the socio-ecological resilience of the Alta Garrotxa Protected Natural Area in the face of climate change.
This space located in the northeast of Catalonia and of great natural value, is vulnerable to large forest fires due to climate change, abundant vegetation and complex orography. To address this problem, the Pau Costa Foundation and the Departament de Territori; Habitatge i Transició Ecològica work hand in hand and together with other key entities in the area, in the recovery of open spaces in Alta Garrotxa for the conservation of biodiversity and the management of the risk of forest fires.
