Efficient fire risk communication for resilient societies
The eFIRECOM project (2015-2017) aimed to increase the resilience of citizens to forest fires in the interface areas of the Mediterranean region. Low social awareness regarding fire risk exposure, combined with reduced individual capacity to prevent and deal with emergencies, increase both social vulnerability and the cost of civil protection actions.
For all these reasons, eFIREcom developed a series of tools, available in several languages, for the educational and journalistic sectors and for municipalities in areas vulnerable to forest fires.
