The Pau Costa Foundation (PCF) is an international non-profit organisation that advocates for a profound change in society’s perception of landscape fire by disseminating knowledge about fire ecology, facilitating landscape-level fire management, and bridging the gap between research, professionals and society.
It also aims to serve as a platform for coordinating information and as a point of contact for the exchange and transfer of knowledge in the fields of fire ecology research and operational fire management.
PCF is looking for a Communication and Events Officer to strengthen its team.
All candidates will be assessed against the criteria outlined below.
Tasks and responsibilities:
Support the work of the PCF Communication Area, in particular:
- Organisation of conferences, workshops and public engagement activities, both nationally and internationally.
- Creation and dissemination of content through PCF’s different communication channels.
- Production of printed, visual and online materials.
- Support in the dissemination of PCF’s key projects.
- Liaison with the media, preparation of press releases and supporting materials for national and international media.
- Maintenance of media, impact and Foundation contact databases.
Minimum requirements:
- At least 3 years of professional experience in a similar position.
- Degree or training in audiovisual communication, journalism, marketing, advertising and public relations, or a related field.
- Excellent command of MS Office and good IT skills.
- Proactive attitude, ability to work as part of a team and to work remotely with a reasonable degree of autonomy in a multinational working environment.
- Excellent spoken and written English (minimum B2 level), Catalan and Spanish. Knowledge of any other European language will be considered an asset.
Additional requirements to be considered:
- Experience in organising international events.
- Driving licence.
- Ability to adapt to the changes and dynamic nature required by projects.
- Basic knowledge of graphic design and video editing software will be considered an asset.
Employment conditions:
- Permanent contract with a 5-month probationary period.
- Full-time position (40 hours per week).
- Gross annual salary between €29,400 and €35,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
- Flexible working hours.
- Immediate availability.
- Hybrid working arrangement, partly remote and partly from the Foundation’s headquarters in Taradell.
