Efficient fire risk communication for resilient societies

The eFIRECOM project (2015-2017) was aimed at increasing the capacity of citizens to resist forest fires in the interface areas of the Mediterranean region. Low social awareness regarding fire risk exposure, combined with reduced individual capacity to prevent and cope with emergencies, increases both social vulnerability and the cost of civil protection actions.

For all these reasons, eFIREcom developed a series of tools, available in several languages, for the educational, journalistic sector and for municipalities in areas vulnerable to forest fires.
