Advanced Fire Analysis Network

AFAN aims to create a European knowledge exchange network among forest fire experts focused on risk analysis (or assessment) and risk reduction. More specifically, this initiative aims to expand existing regional, national and international knowledge and capacities, share them through mutual learning and create the foundations of an operational network based on trust and support. AFAN wants to improve the European response to forest fires by improving the capacities of its members and by coordinating these emergencies.

This network is designed so that different professional profiles can participate in it: experts and Civil Protection organizations at European level, forest fire extinguishing services, regional public agencies, volunteer organizations for forest fire management, other national and international networks, fire training centers, forestry agencies, researchers, small and medium-sized companies and other projects financed by the European Union.
