Roger's experience, internship at the Pau Costa Foundation
“I entered the Foundation as an intern at the University of Lleida with the aim of learning more about and deepening the forest fires during the months of August and September 2019. I was surprised by all the projects and proposals that were on the table, since there is a wide variety of topics in very different formats.
In my case, I had the great opportunity to collaborate in projects of Education for school activities like children's help guides in case of fire, help in the search and classification of scientific-technical documentation and support in rural development and fire prevention workshops such as IV edition of the Conference of Grazed Territories.

My collaboration was parallel to the personal work in the forestry campaign of the Fire brigade, This allowed me to assimilate many of the knowledge that I was acquiring with the internships at the Foundation, thus achieving a broader and more technical vision.
Participating in the Foundation has helped me to have a first contact in the forest fire sector. I have discovered new tools and working methodologies that can be very useful for future projects. Also, now I know international organizations in the world of fires, which I did not know before.
However, it has made me realize the importance of the role they have in the Foundation in research and dissemination of fires and forest management in the society of our country, which from my point of view will be essential to improve and face the future of our forests.
Finally, I recommend and encourage the participation in the foundation to all those who have an interest or are interested in the world of forestry / fires and who are open to collaborating in all kinds of projects. I am sure that they will feel very well cared for and in a very familiar and comfortable work environment. "
