Jordi Monge Comas is a forestry technician with more than 25 years of experience in the field of
forest fires. Monge has worked as a preventive work operator, as a fire watchman, coordinator of
volunteering, and in preventive planning. Likewise, he was working on extinction with GRAF Bombers.
Monge tells us that throughout his professional career he has understood the importance of improving communication and enhancing proximity between the different actors working in the sector in order to minimize the effects of fires; "Fire does not understand borders or languages." Monge stresses the importance of learning to manage fire.
For Monge, the Foundation is a opportunity to weave a web, it is a union that has an equal participation of the operating world, social, academic and research at a global level. According to the forestry technician, professionals dedicated to the prevention and extinction of forest fires can be permanently informed about news, encounters, emergencies, and in general, they can be enriched with knowledge related to the world of forest fires.
Monge has been able to participate in conferences, seminars and in a great variety of webinars; "Topics are covered with novel and very valuable information." Thanks to the Foundation, he has been able to meet many people in the sector and establish collaboration links. In particular, rHe remembers the support he received from the Foundation in his professional experience in Costa Rica.
