The Pau Costa Foundation completes the “Approach forest fires” project thanks to the collaboration of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology - Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities and the La Caixa Social Work
“Approach forest fires” is a set of three different actions that aims to educate and sensitize society about forest fires. This project is motivated by the great ignorance that society still has in general about forest fires. Likewise, through these actions we wanted to transmit the scientific results from different disciplines such as ecology, physics or fire modeling.
At all times, we wanted to include the whole society in the project, from the smallest to the oldest. Therefore, each of the three actions is aimed at a certain type of public and even crosses the linguistic and cultural boundaries as is the case with the art exhibition.
The actions that are ready for you to enjoy learning about forest fires are the following:
1.- Cartoons for boys and girls from 3 to 12 years old, available in Spanish and English, and in Spanish sign language and international system: Discovering the fire with MeFiTu and Jara
2.- Virtual exhibition of forest fires: Fire vs. Fire
We are also pleased to note that with this series of actions framed in the “Approach forest fires” project, we contribute to comply with the Sustainable Development Goals, identified by the United Nations.
Specifically, with these 3 actions presented we contribute in the following ODS:
