Els boscos mediterranis en s\u00f3n un exemple. Molts dels organismes que els habiten porten tant de temps convivint amb el foc, que s&#8217;hi han adaptat. Algunes esp\u00e8cies fins i tot el necessiten per sobreviure. Sentir la calor d&#8217;un incendi des de quil\u00f2metres de dist\u00e0ncia i aprofitar el bosc cremat per dipositar ous, o atraure les flames per despertar llavors de la seva letargia. Aquestes s\u00f3n nom\u00e9s dues de les estrat\u00e8gies de certes plantes i animals per treure profit d&#8217;un ecosistema que ha cremat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Estrat\u00e8gies d&#8217;animals <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Amb el temps, en un ecosistema que ha cremat, poden proliferar animals que van fer servir diferents t\u00e0ctiques per no sucumbir a les flames o, fins i tot, per treure&#8217;n profit. L&#8217;escarabat del foc (<em>Melanophila acuminata<\/em>) \u00e9s un dels animals que han apr\u00e8s a treure-li partit a l&#8217;assumpte. T\u00e9 uns receptors de radiaci\u00f3 infraroja que detecten la calor de les flames fins&nbsp; a 40 km de dist\u00e0ncia. Aquest escarabat sap b\u00e9 que un incendi t\u00e9 un gran avantatge: la fugida de depredadors. Acudeix a &#8220;boscos negres&#8221; per posar els seus ous a la fusta nou cremada o fins i tot, encara en forma de brases. Aix\u00f2 beneficia esp\u00e8cies t\u00edpiques d&#8217;espais naturals oberts com la perdiu roja (<em>Alectoris rufa<\/em>) i el conill europeu (<em>Oryctolagus cuniculus<\/em>). Per qu\u00e8? En les primeres etapes de recuperaci\u00f3 d&#8217;un ecosistema que ha cremat, apareixen herbes amb un alt contingut de nutrients. Tant elles com les seves llavors s\u00f3n font d&#8217;aliment per als conills i les perdius, respectivament.&nbsp; Per\u00f2 aqu\u00ed no acaba tot. Aquestes esp\u00e8cies s\u00f3n menjar per a una au rapinyaire t\u00edpica tamb\u00e9 d&#8217;espais oberts: l&#8217;\u00e0guila cuabarrada (<em>Aquila fasciata<\/em>). R.<\/a> Les relacions tr\u00f2fiques, \u00e9s a dir, d&#8217;alimentaci\u00f3, entre aquestes esp\u00e8cies es beneficien dels espais oberts que generen els incendis.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A m\u00e9s d&#8217;alimentar-se, els \u00e9ssers vius busquen reproduir-se amb \u00e8xit. Per aix\u00f2, algunes esp\u00e8cies ov\u00edpares, \u00e9s a dir, que posen ous, fan els seus nius en llocs on els ous puguin estar c\u00f2modes i segurs. El borinot negre (<em>Xylocopa violacea<\/em>) i diferents esp\u00e8cies de pigots, perforen els seus nius en arbres morts. El fet que la fusta d&#8217;aquests arbres sigui tova facilita la feina a aquests animals, que troben moltes possibilitats per perforar els seus nius despr\u00e9s d&#8217;un incendi. Els dos tipus d&#8217;estrat\u00e8gies b\u00e0siques consisteixen a ren\u00e9ixer i produir una gran quantitat de llavors dependents de la calor de les flames. Tamb\u00e9 hi ha plantes capaces de resistir al foc.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El garric (<em>Quercus coccifera<\/em>) \u00e9s una de les plantes que poden ren\u00e9ixer, tamb\u00e9 anomenades rebrotadores. Ho fa gr\u00e0cies a uns punts anomenats gemmes on es concentren moltes c\u00e8l\u00b7lules especialitzades a generar brots nous. Les gemmes tenen una capa que les protegeix de l&#8217;incendi. Les seves llavors es queden dormides a terra, i no surten de la seva letargia fins que les flames arriben i les desperten, podent germinar i generar arbustos nous. A m\u00e9s, per assegurar-se que arribi prou calor a les llavors, la gatosa est\u00e0 feta per cremar. Com? Aquestes pinyes estan fortament tancades i nom\u00e9s s&#8217;obren amb la calor de les flames. Per aquesta ra\u00f3 se&#8217;ls anomena pinyes ser\u00f2tines. En un bosc de pins els incendis provoquen una pluja de llavors que cauen a terra. Encara no se sap massa sobre aquest fenomen, per\u00f2 s&#8217;intueix que es deu a l&#8217;aprofitament dels nutrients presents a les cendres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gr\u00e0cies a aquestes estrat\u00e8gies, els ecosistemse tenen el potencial per poder recuperar-se despr\u00e9s d&#8217;un incendi. Tan sols trobem esp\u00e8cies adaptades en ecosistemes que de manera natural han cremat cada cert temps i de manera estable des de fa milers d&#8217;anys. \u00c9s el que passa, per exemple, al Parc Natural de Cap de Creus, al Nord-est de la Pen\u00ednsula Ib\u00e8rica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>D&#8217;altra banda, els \u00e9ssers vius amb adaptacions no estan adaptats a qualsevol tipus de foc. Aquests organismes han apr\u00e8s a conviure d\u00e1cord amb l\u2019anomenat&nbsp; r\u00e8gim de foc, \u00e9s a dir, un patr\u00f3 concret d&#8217; incendis: que ocorren en una determinada \u00e8poca de l&#8217; any i cada cert per\u00edode de temps que m\u00e9s o menys dura el mateix, amb una determinada intensitat, i propagant-se d&#8217; una determinada manera que pot ser, per exemple, pel s\u00f2l o per les cap\u00e7ades dels arbres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Llavors, per poder mantenir-se, aquestes esp\u00e8cies necessiten que el seu r\u00e8gim de foc no canvi\u00ef. El problema \u00e9s que els r\u00e8gims de foc estan canviant a escala global. Cada vegada veiem m\u00e9s incendis forestals amb m\u00e9s capacitat destructora i m\u00e9s incendis en llocs on no s&#8217;havien donat fins ara. Per qu\u00e8? Pel canvi clim\u00e0tic i per la insuficient gesti\u00f3 dels boscos. Si un bosc no es gestiona, la vegetaci\u00f3 pot proliferar tant que, quan arriba un incendi, les flames troben tant material disponible per cremar que es fan m\u00e9s grans i intenses. Les pinyes ser\u00f2tines del pi blanc, les gemmes del garric i l&#8217;escor\u00e7a de la surera no resisteixen flames massa intenses. Les llavors de la gatosa no tenen temps per germinar si els incendis s\u00f3n massa seguits.
