The Euromediterranean Meeting on Wildfires will be held the next 18, 19 and 20 November in Barcelona, organized by the CUIMPB (Consorcio Universitario Internacional Menéndez y Pelayo - Barcelona), with the support and collaboration of the Fire Ecology and Management Pau Costa Foundation and Public Safety Institute of Catalonia.

These journeys are intended  to establish a meeting point between the operative wildfire community, the university researchers and the society, trying to find a reply to our common needs. Promoting a continuous learning to a wildfire community based on safety and effectiveness at workplace, on analysis of present and past experiences to improve the future, encouraging collaboration and knowledge sharing capabilities at all levels, and providing access to that knowledge.

Ron Spadafora, a veteran of the New York Fire Department and one of the creators of the Incident Command System will be present at the opening of the conference and in the wokshops. In his career emergencies as 11- S, Sandy Storm, Hurricane Katrina or the Staten Island Wildfire. We will also have international speakers Boumezbeur Ammar, Forest CEO of Algeria, Andreas Shuck the European Forest Institute or Christophe Besancier of SilvaMed - FAO. Also, Raul Quílez ofBombers of Valencia, Alejandro García from the Junta de Extremadura and Marc Castellnou, GRAF Chief Analyst and President of the Pau Costa Foundation will explain the 2012 fire season in Spain and will discuss the future challenges forest fires.
