Participate: ‘Gender and Emergencies’

Many events and campaigns are taking place this week in relation to the International Women’s Day. The Pau Costa Foundation aims to debate on the women’s participation in forest fires and emergencies. We have had requests to boost this debate for a long while.

We would like to give voice to all people who want to share their experience and knowledge, provide documentation on the matter and to help us define an approach to this situation. From your comments we will draw conclusions to decide if the Pau Costa Foundation has to react to this situation.

We expect the participation of professionals and experts in the emergency sector, but also to all people interested in this topic.

We launch these questions, but we are open to read new proposals:

  • Why the emergency sector attracts more men than women? Do we need measures to revert this situation?
  • How do women contribute to this sector? What is the added value?
  • Can you provide more data on this issue?

You can participate via social media (TwitterFacebookLinkedIn), send your comment in this Blog, or send your opinion to
